During the recent board of education meeting, Superintendent Shawn Bishop informed the board of the delinquent balances.
After some discussion, the board elected to have the school officials continue to reach out to these delinquent students to pay their outstanding balances. In the meantime, the district will transfer funds from the general fund to the food services account.
In addition, the board agreed to apply for a grant through the state's 31K Grant Reimbursement. The board will apply for funding to match the amount owed by students. Bishop later said the district will apply for the grant, but there is no guarantee it will be received.
