The founder of a sports and dietary supplements retailer was sentenced Thursday to 54 months in prison for conspiring to sell illegal steroids and other products marketed as dietary supplements that were unlawful under federal law.

Aaron Singerman, 41, of Delray Beach, was arrested on charges of boating under the influence and driving under the influence just days after he pleaded guilty in federal court to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and to selling unapproved new drugs.

Blackstone Labs conspired to sell unlawful dietary supplements, according to the U.S. Department of Justice; they are unapproved new drugs.

The Department of Justice has announced that Blackstone Labs LLC and two of its executives have pleaded guilty to conspiring to sell illegal anabolic steroids and other unlawful products marketed as dietary supplements. Both execs could face up to 13 years in prison.
