Terror associate arrested in Kupwara, 10 grenades, 182 bullets recovered Terror associate arrested in Kupwara, 10 grenades, 182 bullets recovered SRINAGAR: In a joint operation, the Territorial Army and the police on Tuesday (May 11) arrested a terror associate in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district. The security officials recovered ten grenades and 182 rounds of AK-47 rifle from the accused who has been identified as Abdul Ahad Lone. Lone was nabbed in Kralpora area in the district after the officials acted on specific information. “Territorial Army and SOG Kralpora arrested the militant associate Abdul Ahad Lone based on specific information,” the officials said. “10 grenades and 182 AK-47 rounds have been recovered from his possession,” they added.

Police said acting on specific information, Kupwara police, along with army s 17 RR and 160 TA, established a checkpoint at Reshi Gund crossing of village Kralpora. During checking, a person who tried to escape the spot, was chased and apprehended by the joint party. He has been identified as Abdul Ahad Lone, son of Abdul Gani Lone, resident of Gararayal Kupwara.

3 Lashkar militants killed in Anantnag, OGW held in Kupwara

Excelsior Correspondent Srinagar, May 11 : Three militants of Lashkar-e Toiba were killed in an encounter in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district today while an Over Ground Worker of militants was arrested with ammunition in Kupwara. Inspector General of Police Kashmir, Vijay Kumar told Excelsior that three local militants were killed in Vailoo area of Kokernag belt in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district during a joint operation launched by Police, Army’s 19 RR and CRPF on specific information about the presence of militants in the area. He said that militants were repeatedly asked to surrender but they refused and were killed in the gun battle. He said that security forces rescued all the civilians trapped in the gunfire and halted the operation for till the evacuation of people from the area of gunfight.
