New images have emerged of a shipwreck rumoured to have helped Hitler escape to Argentina - and experts now say it could be a real Nazi submarine.

The discovery of a sunken German U-boat off the coast of Argentina has raised speculation that it may have been the Nazi submarine that Hitler used to escape in at the end of the Second World War.

The German ship was scuttled in the dying days of World War II, according to naval investigators. Wreckage lies around four kilometres off coast of Costa Bonita and Arenas Verdes beaches in Buenos Aires, at a depth of 28 metres.

While officials in the Argentine city of Bariloche insist it was never a "Nazi refuge," a tidy little tourist business is growing around visits to local sites associated with Nazi war criminals like Mengele and Eichmann.
