Aberdeen s Covid-19 emergency appeal helps thousands during pandemic Aberdeen’s Covid-19 emergency appeal has made a significant contribution to enable local charities help thousands who are struggling during the pandemic, according to a new report.
An impact report carried out by Aberdeen City Council on behalf of the Lord Provost s Charitable Trust, who set up the appeal, revealed 19,405 people have been supported, 29,649 food parcels delivered and £68,310 for 941 emergency grants were issued.
Since its launch in May the emergency appeal has handed out 60 grants to 42 local registered charities and has raised more than £300,000 from members of the public.
Lord Provost Barney Crockett said: “Thanks to the generosity of individuals and businesses we have been able to give much needed financial support to local charities helping local people in desperate need due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
