Michelle Gomez Boards 3rd ‘Doom Patrol’ Season
The DC Universe streaming service and HBO Max worked through the second season of the property this past summer but the season was cut short by an episode due to the pandemic. That made it feel like it was a lock for a third season but if 2020 has taught us anything, don’t count on anything. So it was welcome news that as part of the second DC FanDome, HBO Max revealed that it has picked up the third season of the series and that it’ll be exclusive to the service. It’s expected to have a 2021 return.

“Doom Patrol” has cast “The Flight Attendant” and “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” alum Michelle Gomez, HBO Max announced on Wednesday.
The actress will join the upcoming third season as a series regular, playing Madame Rouge. The character is described as “a complicated and electrifying eccentric who arrives at Doom Manor with a very specific mission… if only she could remember it.”
The DC Comics version of Madame Rouge was created by Arnold Drake and first appeared in “Doom Patrol” back in the 1960s. The character is a French stage actress who becomes a master of disguise for the Brotherhood of Evil.
Specifically, well-meaning scientists accidentally unleash an ice age as they tried to curb the heating of the planet setting off an extinction event.
Luckily, mysterious billionaire Wilford builds a train with a perpetual-motion engine to circle the planet and keep only the most-deserving and wealthy of humans alive.
That translates into 3,000 survivors stuck on a 10-mile-long, 1,001-car train divided by classes first (for high-priced, paid passengers); second and third classes (for those with specialized skill sets to keep the train running and passengers fed); and a final group who illegally hijacked some of the rear cars of the train.
Led by Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) and disrespectfully called tailers, they are treated with disdain and nearly slave status by the other passengers. Of course, Layton and his rebel survivors want more and hatch a plot to take control of the Snowpiercer.

Doom Patrol Season 3: Stunt Team Celebrates Start of Filming
Doom Patrol s third season and the stunt team for the HBO Max DC Comics-inspired series is celebrating by sharing a behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram, revealing some of the safety protocols in place namely the wearing of masks and general social distancing as things get going for the further adventures of the misfit hero team. The caption to the image was perfectly fitting for the sometimes crass heroes as well, joking that since they can t sing they ll just go make some television instead. Are we about to drop the most awesome socially distant album in history?! the caption reads.
