William Shakespeare s Wife & Family: From Anne Hathaway To Hamnet

Published: May 13, 2021 at 2:45 pm He is one of the greatest writers of all time, and our longing to know as much as we can about him continues. We know that William Shakespeare was born in 1564 to John and Mary Shakespeare of Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, and that he was their first child to survive past infancy. During the Elizabethan period, infant mortality was very high, and his parents had already lost two daughters before young William was born. The exact date of his birth is unknown, but his baptismal record survives, showing that Gulielmus filius Johannes Shakespeare (William, son of John Shakespeare) was baptised in Stratford-upon-Avon’s Holy Trinity Church on 26 April 1564. His birthday is now celebrated on 23 April, since it was common for baptisms to be held three days after a birth.

Nursing homes call for stronger COVID-19 vaccine plan

Long term care officials say they’re concerned the state has no plan to assist facilities in ensuring residents and staff can get the COVID-19 vaccine once the federal partnership with CVS and Walgreens concludes. The two pharmacies have contracts to hold three vaccination clinics at all nursing homes nationwide. After that, the facilities will have to fend for themselves to secure vaccinations for newly admitted residents and staff hires, said Zach Shamberg, president of the Pennsylvania Health Care Association, a trade group for the long term care industry. “We need guidance on where the vaccine is going to come from when the federal pharmacy partnership program ends,” Shamberg said. “Right now, it’s really an every provider for themselves mentality.”

COVID-19 vaccine not expected at area nursing homes for weeks

Distribution of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine to nursing homes is expected to begin statewide Dec. 28, according to the state Department of Health, but officials at Lackawanna County facilities don’t expect to receive doses until January. The vaccine will be administered by pharmacists with CVS and Walgreens, which signed an agreement with the Department of Human Services in October to service all nursing homes and other long term care facilities nationwide. The state Health Department has not provided nursing homes with information regarding which counties or regions of the state will be first to get the vaccine. That decision is being made by CVS and Walgreens in conjunction with DHS, a spokesperson for the Health Department said.
