UN engineers repair dyke breaches in flooded state of South Sudan-

An official in Abyei Administrative Area appeals for a peaceful resolution to the conflict at the border with Warrap amid renewed fighting on Monday morning.

At least 25 people have died in South Sudan after clashes between neighbouring communities over a disputed borderline.

JUBA, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- More than 900,000 people have been impacted by floods in 29 counties across South Sudan and in the southern part of the Abyei Administrative Area, the United Nations humanitarian agency said Tuesday.

A renowned South Sudanese civil society activist has called on the governments of South Sudan and Sudan to expedite the process of deciding the final status of the contested Abyei Area which straddles the border of the two counties.
