Information, detailed information, being disseminated from it? >> not much but the aircraft communication and reporting system is designed to provide that information. what were relying on now as i understand it is the satcom, the communication part, the antenna. its talking but it doesnt have any information going because the acar is not sharing that information. its not designed to give a lot of information just from a satellite look. so now if we had acars data, we dont know if we have or not...

A sort of certain way that its transmitted. as you know, richard, the engine -- its like taking the health of a patient really in hospital. the system is not meant to prevent a failure, but its a system thats meant to help engine makers and the airlines predict perhaps a maintenance event by monitoring the trends its showing. so this data is meant to be a long-term feed, as you know. so what puzzles me is that the engine data also comes down the same pipe as the acars data were familiar with. so...
