Beyond that, let me say that we have been working through femas acquisition process, not only to deploy, but to gather up personal protective equipment. and in just a few moments, you will hear from admiral john palovcek about the extraordinary progress we have made in deploying not just the strategic national stockpile, but also in identifying on the commercial marketplace around america and around the world literally millions of n95 masks, surgical gowns, gloves, protective equipment and at th...

Budgetary infusions. so this challenge, make no mistake about it, the u.s. space command and the forces that we have in the united states force base are the best in the world. our assets are the best in the world. but what has happened lately is that other countries have been catching up with us in ways that are worrisome, which is why the pentagon for the last three, four years at least has been very focused on speeding up the acquisition process, putting more money towards space, elevating spa...

Overhead and integrating joint war is more reform minded. we have to do whatever the final version is, we have to make space more of a priority of the air force -- the air force is doing some good things but we have to make sure space is more of a priority, it wont create more bureaucracy necessarily. the key is to make it better funded, a better priority, the personnel have more clout and prestige and the acquisition

Acquisition process is faster and more effective. right now it takes five to ten years to put a satellite up into space. that is way too long. technology changes so fast. >> shannon: i know the pentagon has been working on a number of studies, one major one, independent review ordered by congress, not even supposed to be until december. some folks wonder if he is jumping the gun. senator bill nelson, democrat who happens to be a former astronaut, says the president told a u.s. general to create ...

That theyre moving quickly whatever theyre doing? >> its wrong to laugh at the north koreans when they have these fails tests. unlike the united states, they dont have this bureaucratic acquisition process. they just want to make sure it works. they have mistakes, adapt and learn from them and next time they increase their technical capability. its wrong to laugh at the north koreans. they are smart. they do have capable scientists. by the way, they share this technology they have in the past wi...

Donald trump was there. this is very important. were talking about billions of dollars here, one of the promises he made is that soon the navy is going to be the largest that its been and said you got to get a good deal, same boats or planes for less money. but hes standing on an aircraft carrier thats a budget buster. >> absolutely. not only is it a budget buster but also delayed multiple times because of equipment issues and other issues that deal with the acquisition process, so one of the th...
