This follows news that the University of Manchester has announced it is going to switch permanently to blended learning - with lectures remaining online even after the pandemic. Student groups in Manchester say they’re not happy with this decision - believing it will change the nature of the student experience forever. In Wales, virtual learning methods were thrust upon students as the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the world. The approach of blended learning was introduced in September 2020, whereby students would mix both virtual and in-person teaching on university campuses. It was billed as a new and unique method that would break down barriers to accessing higher education.
