Vestas has signed a new turbine agreement with Casa dos Ventos for the 360MW Babilonia project in Brazil.
The order includes 80 V150-4.2MW machines delivered in 4.5MW Power Optimized Mode as well as a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 service contract.
Delivery is planned for the second half of 2022, with commissioning scheduled for the second quarter of 2023.
Located in the cities of Morro do Chapeu and Varzea Nova, in Bahiathe, the project is the fourth contract between the companies in just two years.
The order takes the cooperation past the 1.5GW mark.
It also highlights Casa dos Ventos position as Vestas largest customer in Latin America and one of the largest investors in the development of wind projects in Brazil.

The order is placed by Phu Dien JSC, one of Vestas’ biggest customers in Vietnam, that earlier in the year signed contracts for two other projects with a combined capacity of 88MW.
“Vestas is pleased to secure two more projects with Phu Dien JSC in Vietnam. Our partnership demonstrates Phu Dien JSC’s trust and confidence in Vestas’ industry leading wind energy solutions”, says Clive Turton, Vestas Asia Pacific President. “This deal will further strengthen our commitment to support Vietnam’s ambitions to grow its renewable energy sources”.
