Mailbox at Acushnet Post Office may have been fished for money, checks

ACUSHNET Anyone who dropped mail into the blue postal box just outside the Acushnet Post Office might have had their mail stolen in a mailbox fishing incident.
According to a social media post from Acushnet police, during the early hours of Monday December 21, police were dispatched to a call involving a possible mailbox fishing scheme at the blue mail box located outside the Acushnet Post Office.
Thieves use the fishing scheme to steal mail out of the mailbox in hopes of finding checks, money or credit cards.
