Larger systemic problem involving Death Penalty cases in the 1980s and 90s. The thought is black and jewish jurors may have been excluded because they were more likely to oppose the Death Penalty when you intentionally exclude people based on their race, their religion, their gender or any protected category, it violates the constitution as a constitutional officer, i am mandated to investigate and root out unethical behavior. This is not about left or right or any kind of politics. This is about ethics. Spotted right off the coast of alameda. I was in the water for a second until i heard that, and i got off. I got out of there, so now i wouldnt go in there right now. A sad and unpleasant sight today at a beach in alameda. Good evening everyone. Im mike mibach and im julie julie haener. A large gray whale was found dead just off the coastline. It is the first reported whale death in the bay area this year. New at ten tonight. Ktvu zac sos joins us now from crown beach where the whale was discovered. And, zach, youve been speaking with scientists today. Any signs yet . What caused its death . No, not at this point. Julie. The researchers have collected some initial samples from that whale. But they say theyll have to completely remove it from the water before they can conduct a full autopsy on it. Work is underway to transport the carcass of a dead whale found floating off the alameda shore to solid land for a necropsy. As ktvu allie rasmus explains, Marine Mammal scientists want to try and figure out how and why that whale died in the San Francisco bay this morning. A tow boat with flashing lights slowly maneuvered through the water, pulling what looked like a giant rock or mass with several birds perched on top. It weighs probably 40,000 pounds. Its approximately 35ft long. It was the carcass of a female gray whale that had washed up dead near the alameda shoreline saturday evening. It was visible from crown beach until monday morning, when the tide carried it north towards vienna avenue. Vienna means whale in spanish. It was drifting off the coast of the south side of alameda, and we had to go out and find the whale, get it hooked up and tow it to its final re
