The first call came in to Oakland Police as a carjack in their pursuit they lost him and later they found the car, and it was abandoned on 580 facing the wrong way but it was empty. They got another report of a carjacking attempt that was unsuccessful and they got a suspect description and he was found walking on northbound 238. That is when he ran away. While he was running, he started firing at the officers. Because that part of the show part of the crime scene the northbound offramp to east 14th, now it will be closed.
