Main Street Kirksville’s Whiskey & Turkey Festival was held on Saturday, Sept. 9 on Elson Street in downtown Kirksville. The festival was celebrated with music, turkey legs, whiskey samples, a beer tent and vendors. Missouri-born and raised singer/songwriter Travis Gibson performed for an appreciative audience.
The Kirksville Parks and Recreation Department held the second of their four summer block parties on July 16 at Jaycee Park on Osteopathy Street. Families attending the event enjoyed free hot dogs, lemonade, cotton candy, snow cones, water fights, a suds machine, a fire truck, a police car and more. Upcoming block parties will be held at at Memorial Park on July 30 and at Brashear Park on Aug. 6.

Three Truman State athletes made the trip to Pueblo, Colorado, for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, which took place from May 25 through May 27. Seniors Ellie Weltha and Natalie Telep and junior Jacob Morris were the qualifiers.
