In recognition of National AccessAbility Week in Canada, the City announced Wednesday it is accepting grant applications to distribute $200,000 in funds for adapted sport and recreation programs and initiatives in our community.
“This funding is so much more than dollars and cents. It is a powerful reminder that Regina is a place for everyone,” says City Councillor Terina Shaw. “This money will help organizations eliminate barriers they face when trying to provide programming for people with disabilities. When this funding became a reality, I immediately thought back to all the struggles I battled on behalf of my daughter for inclusion. My vision for the last 25 years has been to eliminate barriers. Regina is one step closer.”
