voting law there bans 24-hour drive through voting which studies show is used in 2020 disproportionately by black and brown voters in houston s harris county. and in north carolina on friday a state appeals court overturned a 2018 republican voting law saying it was discriminatory, it was, quote, motivated at least in part by an un-constitutional intent to target african-american voters. that law was a ballot measure requiring voters to show identification at the polls. what is discriminatory about that you might ask? well, i.d. is expensive. and time consuming. and black voters are 1300% more likely to lack acceptable forms of voter i.d. than white voters. surprise. add it up and it is another form of poll tax. another unnecessary burden. another obstacle. i haven t even talked about georgia yet. this is jim crow on steroids what they re doing in georgia. and 40 other states.
