The Patrician Presentation in Fethard will see a mix of 14 new class and office rooms developed. Fine Gael Senator Garret Ahearn says it’s great news for the school in Fethard. “This is a very significant day for the school. I want to compliment the principal Billy Walsh and all his staff. Particularly the board of management for the work they’ve put together over the last number of months.”

Funding announced under the Additional Accommodation Scheme 2021 will allow for two 60 metre squared classrooms complete with toilet facilities to be in place for the children starting in September. The school caters for children with moderate to severe to profound needs and is currently at capacity, with ten children enrolled to start in the new school year.

The Department of Education has sanctioned the building of two SEN classrooms at Scoil Mhuire agus Ide in Newcastle West.
