NEW YORK CITY: The international community must not abandon the 4 million children in Syria for whom the Feb. 6 earthquakes came as โa trauma on top of trauma,โ the UNโs Childrenโs Fund, UNICEF, has warned. โIt is our duty to make sure that we do not forget them,โ said Adele Khodr, the organizationโs regional director for the Middle East and North Africa.

AMMAN, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) on Tuesday appealed for 2.6 billion U.S. dollars in emergency funding to deliver lifesaving assistance to over 52.7 million children in need in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in 2023.
