2 Adelphoi residents in Unity group home arrested after being stabbed in altercation

Two wards at Adelphoi Village’s Saxman House were arrested on assault charges after both were stabbed with scissors during an altercation in the non-profit’s group home for adjudicated males in Unity, according to state police. Timothy S. Rice, 20, was ordered held in the county prison on $5,000 bond Monday on charges of aggravated assault, harassment and simple assault filed by state police after his release from UPMC Mercy hospital in Pittsburgh, where he was flown by medical helicopter for multiple stab wounds he suffered during the fight that occurred just after noon Saturday.

County commissioners approve youth services agreements | News, Sports, Jobs

mreuther@sungazette.com Lycoming County Commissioners voted to accept several agreements for youth and family services during their meeting Tuesday. A contract approved with Adelphoi Village, Inc. covers foster care and residential care services. The costs, which have been increased by 2 percent from 2020, range from $78.79 per day to $315.21 per day, according to Lycoming County Children & Youth Services Director Mark Egly. No youths are presently in the program, he noted. Contracts with Justice Works YouthCare, Inc. and Dwell Lycoming County were also approved. Justice Works provides community based in-home services and Dwell offers trauma training and support services for foster families.

Latrobe man accused of indecently assaulting Adelphoi runaway

Police filed indecent assault charges against a Latrobe man accused of helping a 17-year-old run away from an Adelphoi Village group home. Eric L. Mallin, 50, and his wife, Michele L. Mallin, 48, were charged with corruption of minors after police say they helped the girl when she left the Derry Township facility in September. The girl recently told state police that while in the couple’s home, she was groped and propositioned for sex by Eric Mallin, Trooper Paige Shreffler reported in court documents.
