Adhir Sharma, DG & IGP, Railways, West Bengal, has made a presentation on the issue before West Bengal DGP Virendra. The increasing crime graph around the station could be better managed with different policing of Metro and the suburban railway, according to Sharma’s proposal. Like Mumbai’s Railway Police Commissionerate, he suggested all of the city’s fast corridors, including the brand new Dakshineswar line, ‘might be incorporated in the city’s Metropolitan Railway Police Commissionerate.”
