There was a woman that stood outside Met Market and Admiral Safeway with her sign saying she needed money for her 3 kids. Haven’t seen her for quite a while. One day watched her leave from Safeway and go get in her fairly new Toyota van. It was clean and looked well cared for. No sign anyone was living in it. My sister lives in Ballard. People are always at the Fred Meyer entrance with their sign’s looking for money. Couple of years ago she told the guy that not only Fred Meyer had signs up that they needed people the post office a block away had help wanted signs up also. His response was to hurl obscenities at her for not giving him money. Jesse Jones from KIRO did a story last year on women downtown with their young kids begging downtown. Followed them on the bus to their high end apartment complex complete with pool. Sad reality is that there ARE scammers out there. The people they’re hurting are the ones that really do need help.

A couple of weeks ago we went to Met Market and noticed a friendly girl (she says hello how are you when you walk by her) sign in hand stating the fact she is a “mom” needing money for food for her children, now again today she was there but I also recall seeing this same girl outside of the Roxbury Safeway about a year and half ago same language on sign… well what do you know we went to the WWV QFC 3 to 4 hours after our Met Mkt. visit this morning and there she was standing by the driveway into their parking lot… makes me wonder if she would put that much time and effort into finding a job she wouldn’t need to panhandle???

Sometime around 4:30am today someone in a first gen CR-V broke into my Audi and attempted to steal it. Couldn’t make out the color due to IR camera but I think it was the one from article. No luck and they drove away in the CR-V. Hope your car was recovered in good order.

I swear I just saw the truck zooming up and down California Avenue in between Andover and Hines, but a second pass happened and I’m fairly sure the truck I saw is a Dodge Ram, not a Ford. I’m telling you though, I had a close up of the truck and it had the same Iron Cross bumper guard and a black box in the back. Same color. So there might be almost an identical truck going around West Seattle right now that is not the stolen truck.
