THIS comes as a gladdening surprise. Mataking Reef Resort last week expanded its turtle hatchery by 12’ x 27’, contrary to the troubling trend of population decline reported around the globe.
TURTLE eggs were left alone in the early 2000s.
“When we started Mataking Reef Resort in 2003, we just left the eggs where mother turtles had deposited them naturally,” said Operations Manager, Jeffrey Yee.
