The sun-drenched shores of Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area came alive with excitement Saturday as the Fort Cavazos Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation brought together several organizations

The 25th Undergraduate Senate had their fourth and last meeting of the 2022-2023 academic year on Tuesday. The senators discussed eliminating fees associated with physical wellness courses and reforming campus healthcare to better meet student needs.

Local Scout and Ponca City High School Senior, Tanner Estes, has earned the Scouts BSA’s highest achievement, the Eagle Scout Award. Estes is a member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church Troop 556. Approximately 6 percent of all youth who participate in Scouting attain the Eagle Rank. After being closed for three years due to a lifeguard shortage, Sierra Beach at Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area will reopen June 3 as an unmanned beach.

The event on Saturday began with a Zumba session that ran until 11:45 a.m. and then switched to a beginner’s hula-hoop class that ran until approximately 12:30 p.m.

Seven former Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) employees were honored recently by the SWOSU Alumni Association.
