We want to reach an agreement for the American People, for our children and their education, for everyone at their health care, for our workers and our economy. Clear that we should do something and we should do something big, and we should do it in a way that is bipartisan as we have done every other bill. I could not help but thinking that what they were offering was was a choice, not enough money for food, enough money for housing. Money for money in the pockets of the American People who need this through no fault of their own are out of work. Certainly, when they said a skinny proposal, it was anorexic. At the time when we have unemployment figures breaking all records, when we have 10 times theunemployment claims in illinois that we did a year ago , 10 times the unemployment claims in the commonwealth of kentucky that they did a year ago, we leinstead are hearing from the republican side of the aisle the problem with our economy is not unemployment. What republicans have suggested is to cut that 600 federal supplement to 200 and then they turn and say well, but we want to do is to compensate the worker with 70 percent of what they were hurting when they were laid off. Theres a real serious problem here that they are not disclosing to the american people. Back in marc
