Moranbah will introduce a rainbow flair into its jersey collection this Saturday, with the women’s side to debut a new Pride Round guernsey.
Bulldogs player and secretary Terese Wilcox designed the guernseys for the club in which she has played alongside her wife Rebecca in previous seasons.
Wilcox will not play this season because of her pregnancy, but said she was ecstatic the club was supporting the initiative.
“Pride Round has been really important to us as a club and as a community for a long time, but we’re really fortunate that BMA has jumped on board as a sponsor for the jumpers,” she said.
Paul was a massive supporter of Queensland Aussie rules football – with his service to the game spanning almost two decades.
His business Allied Pickfords held the long-term naming rights of the AFL Darling Downs and AFL Mackay senior men’s competitions.
He had stepped up as the president of Burleigh in 2005 at a time when the club was experiencing some major challenges. He stayed on as president and major sponsor for 14 years before handing over the reins at the end of 2018 to focus on his expanding business.
AFL Queensland head Trisha Squires said Paul’s contribution to Australian Rules Football in Queensland could not be understated.

Wallis Randell’s journey from a cane farm in Carmila to the AFLW will add its next – and greatest – chapter when she makes her Gold Coast Suns debut against West Coast on Sunday.
Randell, 19, has been named to play for the first time since she was taken with Pick No. 61 in the 2020 AFLW Draft, and will become the third Mackay product after Lauren Bella and Emma Pittman to play for the Suns.
Like many in the AFLW, Randell’s sporting background is not founded in Aussie rules.
Before she was lacing up for Magpies in the AFL Mackay competition, Randell was a member of the Mackay Meteorettes’ Queensland Basketball League side.
