Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts and the African American Cultural Festival of Raleigh and Wake County (AACF) announce their new annual partnership which will feature four co-produced events. The events will focus on bringing the community together while honoring African American culture and heritage. We re proud to continue to partner with the African American Cultural Festival of Raleigh and Wake County to celebrate African American heritage, said Michelle Bradley, Duke Energy Center s Interim Assistant GM.
Two of Columbus major summer events have fallen to the pandemic.
The 2021 Columbus Arts Festival and the Jazz & Ribs Fest have been canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Greater Columbus Arts Council made its announcement Thursday, that the annual Arts Festival won t be happening in June because of the continued increases in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations and slowed vaccine distribution. We must put the health and safety of our patrons, artists, performers, vendors and sponsors first, GCAC President Tom Katzenmeyer said in a news release.
Katzenmeyer said there are no plans for a virtual festival as there was for last year s event.

Kwanzaa runs through Jan. 1, and a couple groups are offering some virtual Kwanzaa celebrations for families. The annual celebration honors African American culture. Its seven days are each dedicated to one of these principals unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith.
