Rapper Ice Cube has revealed that actor Chris Tucker, his co-star in the popular 1995 film “Friday,” didn’t appear in the sequels because of his Christian faith, turning down a $10 million to $12 million offer to portray a character known for cussing and smoking marijuana.

Ice Cube claims religion is the reason why his 'Friday' costar Chris Tucker turned down $12 million to reprise his role in the sequel.

It's noted that Chris Tucker appeared in three “Rush Hour” movies with co-star Jackie Chan.

Ice Cube hopped on Twitter to share why the man who played Smokey didn't return for either "Next Friday" or "Friday After Next."
