Thakkar Report: The last big action: When demand to discuss Thakkar report led to suspension of 63 MPs
In 1989, 63 Members of Parliament were suspended from the Lok Sabha after they disrupted proceedings, demanding a discussion on and the tabling of the Thakkar Commission report, which investigated the circumstances leading to the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The suspension motion was adopted, and the MPs were suspended for the remainder of the week.
