Georgia special agent s death dogged by baseless election rumors, state agency says Print this article
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said there is absolutely no truth to online conspiracy theories that a special agent s death was connected to the 2020 election.
Special Agent James O Sullivan, 51, died on Monday at his home, according to WSAV. Conspiracy theories allege that he was investigating a multivehicle crash that killed Harrison Deal, a campaign staffer working for Sen. Kelly Loeffler. A GBI agent passed away this week and there are online rumors that it was somehow connected to the election, the GBI tweeted. This baseless claim is irresponsible & reckless. It is hurtful to the agent s family and co-workers. Please be mindful of the things you write, repeat, or share especially when there is absolutely no truth in them.
