Four women from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and Senegal have received a total of US85,000 in grant funding after being named winners of AGRA’s Women Agripreneurs of the Year Awards.

WAYA2023 awards recognize outstanding female agripreneurs in Africa, celebrating innovation, contribution to agriculture, and empowerment.

Standard Chartered Kenya in partnership with @iBizAfrica - Strathmore University has selected 15 women-led startups to undergo 12 weeks of business incubation training under the Women in Tech Programme, which will culminate in seven businesses receiving US$10,000 each in funding.

Three Kenyan startups are among 20 enterprises from Africa that will share the $2 million (Sh244 million) grant announced at the climate conference in Egypt.

50 per cent of the winning teams are said to be female-led.
