A Jersey City man accused of shooting two people inside Newport Centre mall in Jersey City two years ago has pleaded guilty, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced Monday.
Ahmad Broadway, 26, admitted to one count of second-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and one count of fourth-degree risking widespread injury or damage in a virtual hearing before Hudson County Superior Court Judge John Young.
Broadway had been detained at the Hudson County jail in Kearny since his arrest 11 days after the Jan. 11, 2019 shooting that police sources said at the time was related to an ongoing dispute between rival Jersey City crews.
