“We are not under any pressure whatsoever because we take a game at a time, what happened weeks back is history, we want to now focus on a different game tomorrow [Sunday], Kajoba told the club’s official website.
“We have the chance to turn things around and it’s a good and special match to do so.
“There cannot be a better time for this fixture than now, we are set and will be keen on building on the recent good run we have away from home.
“The ambitions are there, of course, and we have been here before and know what to do – we need to get positive results and we can do so by creating chances, taking them, and scoring goals.”
It is the reason coach Kajoba has called on the Venoms to make sure they make good use of the chances they create so that they don t end up being punished at the end of the game.
“Well, you cannot get anything after the final whistle when you do not convert those chances into goals,” Kajoba told the club’s official website after the game.
“We have to maximise most and bury the opportunities to avoid being punished because that’s the only way out.”
Captain Paul Willa is confident they will keep their good record at home when they come up against the Red Eagles.
The Wednesday encounter is expected to be an emotional one for Kajoba since he led Bright Stars to a maiden Uganda Cup final in 2019 where they ended up losing to Proline FC in post-match penalties.
“We closed that chapter though the memories remained. We have since moved on and Wednesday is purely going to be another affair. It would be business and real business, he added. We will enjoy fighting for three points as well.”
On injuries, late assessments will be carried out on Halid Lwaliwa and Siraje Sentamu after they were unavailable for the Onduparaka game due to minor knocks.
“They are a stubborn side and going by their recent results, you may look at them as underdogs but we know what they can be capable of and we don’t intend to leave anything to chance,” Kajoba told the club’s official website.
“We hope we can have improved performance and get the three points because it’s very important for us.”
Vipers, who were crowned the league champions for the last campaign after the Federation of Uganda Football Association (Fufa) moved to end the season owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, will also be buoyed by the fact their rivals KCCA FC lost 2-1 to URA FC on Friday.
