Proposal to set up joint health platform mooted for Arab league

Muscat: The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Health, participated in meetings of the executive bureau of Arab Health Ministers in preparation for the 54th ordinary session of the Council due to be held via video-conferencing on Monday. Oman was represented in the meeting by Dr Ahmed Mohammed Al Sa’eedi, Minister of Health.
The meeting reviewed and endorsed agenda of the forthcoming online health ministers’ session.
The executive bureau is expected to submit an urgent recommendation for discussion before the Arab Health Ministers Meeting in Monday’s session, including a proposal to set up a joint platform under the Arab league (and in cooperation with Health and Housing ministers) to undertake quick response to emergency situations, including catastrophes and accidents that might cause great loss of life.

They are the Royal Hospital, Khoula Hospital, Al Nahda Hospital and Al Masarra Hospital, which have a total number of 1,639 beds, with occupancy standing at 70.7%, said Dr. Ahmed.

Muscat: The Ministry of Health yesterday began administering the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The second dose is being given to the target segments that received the first dose of the Pfizer-bionNTech vaccine over the past few weeks in different parts of the Sultanate.
