The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons came close to winning a track and field state title last May. They have the pieces to be competitive among the state’s top athletes again this season. “With the great athletes we lost, you wonder how great we’re going to be this year,” Blair Oaks girls coach Marc Keys said. “After seeing the incoming freshmen and who we’ve got coming in, I think we’re going to be a little better than I thought."
The Blair Oaks Falcons advanced seven wrestlers to the Class 2 state wrestling championships Saturday, placing third in the Class 2 District 3 Tournament. The Falcons scored 140 points in the team standings. Helias won the district title with 242.5 points, while Seneca took second with 174.5 points.

This year, Blair Oaks won three duals to earn a spot in the seventh-place match with Lee’s Summit, but fell 37-30 to finish eighth overall.
