The Ste. Genevieve High School boys’ basketball team didn’t have much time to dwell on last Friday’s 18-point divisional road loss to North County.
That’s because the Dragons were right back at it on Saturday evening playing non-league Jefferson R-7 at Peggy J. Johnson Gymnasium.
“It wouldn’t be my first choice,” said head coach Robert Coleman of such a quick turnaround, “because I knew North County on Friday would be tough. I knew it would be a physical game.
I guess on the other hand, it makes you move past the loss and not sit around and think about it all weekend.”

Ste. Genevieve High School head boys’ basketball coach Robert Coleman has a tradition of starting as many seniors as possible on “Senior Night.”
It serves as a reward for the players who have been with the program the longest; this year, Chaytin Lea, Landon Rose, Logan Trollinger and Anthony Nash.
The seniors, and the rest of the Dragons, rewarded the coach with a come-from-behind 65-60 victory over Potosi in a heated, pivotal Mineral Area Activities Association Large School Division contest.
“It was a great win for our seniors on Senior Night,” Coleman said. “Those guys played well.”
