The California Air Resources Board today released a draft plan that, when final, will guide the state’s transition to a clean energy economy, drastically reduce the use of fossil fuels, achieve carbon neutrality by 2045 or sooner and significantly clean the state’s air especially in disadvantaged communities disproportionately burdened by persistent pollution.
SACRAMENTO – A landmark program between the California Pollution Control Financing Authority and the California Air Resources Board has just surpassed a milestone of financing enough truck loans to help get more than 36,000 cleaner trucks on the road, State Treasurer Fiona Ma and the California Air Resources Board announced today.

For many awardees this will be a first-of-its-kind mobility project to be funded and launched in their community. Funding for CMO is made possible by California Climate Investments, a statewide initiative that puts billions of cap-and-trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health. The response to the mobility project voucher application window shows there is strong demand and need for this funding. Twenty-one communities received funds in its inaugural year, however there were a total of 33 applicants requesting as much as $1 million each.
