Drydocks World, a DP World Company, and Aker Solutions have formed a joint venture to upgrade a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel for the Rosebank oil and gas field in the UK.

Aker Solutions has signed a substantial contract for the electrification of the Draugen platform with oil and gas company OKEA.

OKEA has selected Aker Solutions as the main contractor for the Draugen Electrification project. The project will involve major modifications of the existing platform to enable power from shore. As a result of this, the emissions from Draugen are estimated to be reduced by as much as 200,000 tons of CO2 per year.

UAE-based Drydocks World said its joint venture with Aker Solutions, a key provider of oilfield products, has been signed up by Altera for the upgradation of its Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel at an oil and gas field in the UK.

Drydocks World Dubai and Aker Solutions will work together on upgrading an FPSO for one of the largest undeveloped oil fields in the UK.
