Trial operations begin at Duqm integrated power-water plant By: ONA Muscat: The integrated power and water plant at the Special Economic Zone in Duqm (SEZAD) started trial output after receiving the first consignment of liquefied natural gas to operate it. The station is considered a centralised utilities facility being set up by Marafiq company at the SEZAD. It includes 326 megawatt power generation unit, a desalination plant with a daily output capacity of 36,000 cubic metres, sea water suction units with supply capacity of 1.5 million cubic metres a daily and a 132 kilovolt electricity transmission line from the plant to the oil storage tanks at Ras Markaz, 80 kilometres from the heavy industries area at the SEZAD.

Royal Oman Police ROP said: Al Wusta Governorate Police Command, with the support of the Duqm Special Task Force Police Unit, arrests 16 expatriates, including 11 women, on charges of engaging in acts contrary to morals and public morals, and the legal procedures against them have been completed.

16 expats, including 11 women, arrested for immoral acts in Oman

Dubai: Sixteen expats, including 11 women, have been arrested in Oman for engaging in immoral acts, the Royal Oman Police announced on Twitter. “Al Wusta Police, in cooperation with Duqm Special Task Force Police Unit, have arresed 16 expats, including 11 women, on charges of engaging in outrageous acts contrary to public morals,” the ROP said. Legal action is being taken against them and they will be referred to public prosecution. According to article 25 of the Omani Penal Code, whoever publicly commits indecent acts or makes indecent statements shall be punished by imprisonment for a period no less than 10 days and not exceeding 3 months, and a fine of no less 100 Omani riyals and not exceeding 300 riyals, or one of those two punishments.
