A record crowd of 8,021 spectators watched the Hoops at Tallaght tonight.

The Hoops lifted their fourth league title in a row in front of a record crowd of 8,021 spectators at Tallaght Stadium.

The 42 also understands that Shelbourne captain Luke Byrne has been offered the position of assistant manager with the First Division club.

Hoops Head Coach Stephen Bradley confirmed that Jack Byrne has had an operation and will miss out on Shamrock Rovers’ final four games of the season.

A strong defensive display from the Students in a scoreless stalemate against Shamrock Rovers wasn’t enough to save them from relegation as UCD couldn’t get the win required to give them a stay of execution for another week.
