Democrats in the newly formed Senate Districts 2 and 5 convened, May 1 and April 24, respectively, to select candidates.

Senate District 2 includes the entire counties of Beltrami, Clearwater, Lake of the Woods and Mahnomen along with portions of Itasca, Cass, Hubbard and Becker -- as well as the three largest Native American reservations in Minnesota: White Earth, Red Lake, and Leech Lake.

The Democratic-Famer-Labor Party gathered for the district’s convention on May 1.
