City and tribal leaders say Pueblo Revolt runners, Don Diego statues will be in public view by summer if resolution adopted

A Diego de Vargas statue is expected to be displayed inside the New Mexico History Museum, and a statue of the Tesuque runners is planned to go inside the Santa Fe Convention Center.

Dissension immediately emerged over plans for the de Vargas statue and a sculpture depicting key figures in the Pueblo Revolt.

Webber said the city is "on the right track in ways large and small" in his speech on Thursday at the Santa Fe Teen Center.

In a Wednesday morning hearing, First Judicial District Court Judge Bryan Biedscheid ruled against a popular and pending tax intended to help create a funding stream for affordable housing in the city of Santa Fe.
