Health P.E.I.'s former CEO Michael Gardam says patient medical homes would help more people see a doctor, but doubts there's enough space or people to staff them.
Health P.E.I. says a backlog has been cleared of 30 to 40 COVID-19 patients who were waiting to receive the anti-viral drug Paxlovid. The agency says it has a plentiful supply of the drug on hand and better delivery systems as cases rise once again.
Officials with Health P.E.I. are asking Islanders for patience when trying to access Paxlovid and say physicians have now prescribed more than 1,200 courses of the highly effective COVID-19 antiviral.
