Pensioner, 83, set to deny historic child sex offences dating back 40 years A MAN has denied historic sexual abuse charges after two women came forward to report they had been abused by a neighbour more than 40 years ago. Ian Vinnell, 83, faces four counts of indecent assault relating to allegations dating back to the 1970s. Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard the charges arose after two women came forward with allegations about Vinnell, who was a former neighbour. Appearing before District Judge Timothy King yesterday, Vinnell, of Albany Gardens West, Clacton, indicated he would deny the charges.
