alessadra biaggi, up start, had the support of the progressive grass roots movement. the fact that he beat her so decisively, look at those margins right there, nearly doubled her up, maybe more. what message does that send to the rest of new york and i guess democrats writ large? it certainly loss on the aoc side of folks who obviously endorsed biaggi. also a sign that establishment democrats aren t necessarily going to go so easy. that the progressive wave of the party doesn t niecely always translate into wins at the ballot box. and so, this was somewhat expected by maloney, but it does send a message about this kind of divide between the establishment and the progressive wings of this party. before i let you go, we saw the audio from pat ryan, who won over republican mark malinaro in the special election in new york s 19th district.
