Voters also approved money to make the police chief a full-time job and hire a full-time officer. Approximately 140 voters participated in Town Meeting, which was moved inside the R.H. Conwell School due to high winds and low temperatures. “Today was particularly well attended for a Town Meeting,” said Select Board Chairman Charley Rose, in an interview. The meeting was originally scheduled to take place outside. However, the company employed to put up the tent was contractually unable to do so because of the wind. The town moderator, Board of Health and other local officials decided it would be best to have the meeting indoors.

The meeting will take place outside the R.H. Conwell School starting at 9:30 a.m. The biggest monetary item on the 36-article Town Meeting warrant is the fiscal year 2022 Worthington School District budget, contained in Article 3. The proposed budget is $1,211,756, up from $1,166,275 for the current year. The total request consists of $953,574 for the elementary school and $258,182 for the secondary school budget.
