Rhode Islanders on Thursday had their chance to sound off on a House bill that would dissolve the Providence Tourism Council and instead send funds to the Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau. Those opposed, which included restaurateurs and Providence Tourism Council Chair and Commissioner Alexis Gorriaran, raised concerns over transparency, independence and a lack of public input on the proposal sponsored by Democratic Rep.
