defenceWeb The Admiral Kasatanov. A detachment of ships of the Russian navy’s Northern Fleet have concluded a visit to Algeria. The vessels, led by the frigate Admiral Kasatonov, completed a ‘business call’ at the port city of Algiers on 20 January, the Russian Ministry of Defence said. The frigate was accompanied by the ocean rescue tug Nikolay Chiker. In the future, a detachment of ships of the Northern Fleet will continue to move along the Mediterranean Sea in an easterly direction. During the visit, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Algerian People’s Democratic Republic Igor Belyaev met with Russian sailors.
