Health care workers who received their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine Friday simply called it âreliefâ and a potential end in sight to a year of turmoil.
Day one of the three-day vaccination clinic at the GFL Memorial Gardens got underway Friday and was deemed a success by organizers. More than 500 vaccinations were administered.

A total of 1,301 scheduled appointments are booked through to Sunday.
âPlanning for this community-wide vaccination hub has been underway for some time and has involved input and collaboration from many local health-care partners,â said Erik Landriault, director of integrated care at the Algoma Ontario Health Team. âThe tremendous success of this first day is a testament to the tireless dedication and commitment of our communityâs health-care providers.â
